REPORTS TO: Head of Brewing Operations
FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Non- exempt
Position Summary:
The Production Technician is responsible for supporting all aspects of brewery production, including cellar operations, packaging, pilot brewing, cleaning and sanitation, material handling, and general production support. As a member of a small production team, this position will work across multiple areas of the brewery and help wherever needed to support production goals. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety in their work and is willing to take on different responsibilities as priorities shift.
Success in this role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to follow established procedures. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well with others, and can be trusted to complete tasks correctly without constant supervision.

Production priorities can change from day to day. The ideal candidate is adaptable, willing to learn new skills, and comfortable moving between packaging, cellar work, brewing support, pilot brewing, warehouse tasks, cleaning, and other responsibilities as needed.

Core Responsibilities:
- Cellar Operations
- Performs tank CIP and sanitation procedures
- Conducts beer transfers between vessels
- Dry hops, harvests yeast, dumps yeast and trub, and assists with fermentation management
- Carbonates beer and prepares products for packaging
- Collects samples and performs routine quality checks
- Maintains accurate production records and logs
- Packaging Operations
- Operates and monitors canning, kegging, and packaging equipment
- Assists with packaging setup, changeovers, and cleanup
- Inspects packaged products to ensure quality standards are met
- Troubleshoots minor equipment issues and reports larger issues promptly
- Maintains packaging area cleanliness and organization
- Assists in cold storage organization
Additional Responsibilities
- Assists with pilot brewing operations and recipe trials
- Supports brewers during production brew days
- Prepares ingredients and brewing materials
- Cleans and maintains brewing equipment
- Participates in process improvement and product development projects
- Assists with brewery experimentation and innovation efforts
- Assists in loading kegs for distribution
- May assist in keg deliveries as needed

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This is an active, physically demanding position in a production environment. Employees should expect to spend the majority of each shift on their feet performing a variety of tasks throughout the brewery.
Requirements include:
- Standing and walking for the majority of a 8–10 hour shift.
- Frequently walking between brewing, cellar, packaging, warehouse, and storage areas.
- Repeated bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Regularly lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 55 pounds.
- Safely maneuvering, rolling, tilting, and stacking full kegs weighing up to 165 pounds.
- Climbing stairs and ladders and working on elevated platforms.
- Working safely around wet floors, cleaning chemicals, pressurized vessels, forklifts, and production equipment.
- Working in hot, cold, humid, and noisy environments.
- Operate a forklift for incoming and outgoing shipments as well as general brewery use
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous brewery, beverage manufacturing, food manufacturing, or production experience.
- Forklift certification or experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture.
